Billy Ray Gladden

Billy Ray Gladden, age 80, of Valdese, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at his residence. Billy was born July 26, 1943 in Gaston County to the late Ernest Gladden and Corrie Mull Gladden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Gladden, children, Patricia Causby, Faye Forbes, Kenneth Causby and several brothers and sisters.

Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman and worked on small engines. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Billy "Jeff" Gladden and wife Jamie, Kimberly Phillips and husband Tommy, Carolyn Causby, Brenda Piercy, Phyllis Causby and Melvin Causby, all of Morganton, two sisters, Claire Pritchard and Elizabeth Pendley; grandchildren, Ashley and husband Dwight, Eddie, Trever, Austin, Cody and wife Amy, great grandchildren, Haven, Kobe, Kai, Cooper, Ryleigh, Peyton, Bryson, as well as numerous others.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, neighbors and friends by whom he will be fondly remembered.

A funeral service will be held for Mr. Gladden on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Kirksey Funeral home.
