Betty Jo Johnson

Betty Jo Johnson, age 79, of Valdese, passed away at her residence and surrounded by her loved ones, Saturday, January 4, 2020. Betty was born the daughter of the late Samuel Burleson and Oma Cole Burleson on July 23, 1940 in Avery County.

Betty was a kindhearted soul. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Betty will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Johnson; a daughter, Terri Johnson Roberts; and four brothers.

Those left behind to cherish Betty’s memory include two sons, Ronnie Johnson and his wife Karen of Lenoir and Robbie Johnson and his wife Melanie of Valdese; two daughters, Angie Pyatte and her husband Scott of Valdese and Tonya Johnson and her life partner Teal Devlin of Hickory; two sisters, Ann Shuffler and her husband Ralph of Morganton and Sandra Motley and her husband John of Valdese; nine grandchildren: Tyler, Bradley, Tony, Shaylee, Breanna, Heather, Kelly, Jordan and Hannah; and 14 great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by two fur babies, Baby Love and Tinker, numerous other relatives and friends.
