Barbara Janella (Edwards) Duckworth, age 61, of Morganton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Barbara was born the daughter of the late Bruce and Ophie Edwards on May 9, 1962 in Yancey County.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed.
Those left behind to cherish Barbara's memory include her husband, Michael Avery Duckworth, three children, Jessica Reece, Jessie Reese and Dustin Duckworth; her beloved six grandchildren, Ezra, Brianna, Makayla, Brayson, Kylie and Jaden; two sisters, Anita Edwards and Helen Jones; and a brother, Douglas Edwards. Barbara is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
In honor of her love of the ocean, Barbara's ashes will be scattered at the beach.
