After a lengthy illness, John Paz Jr. passed away peacefully on January 10, 2014. He was born and raised in Santa Clara and was the son of John Paz Sr. and Mary Paz, also of Santa Clara. He is survived by his wife Lee Paz. His three children and grandchildren; Jed Paz and his children Stephan, Christine and Mirah of Brentwood, CA; Jeff Paz and Sheri and their children Nick, Cody, Casey, and a great-grandson Jameson of Windsor, CA; Monica and Ken Churchill and their two sons Tyler and Austin of Monterey, CA; his sister Marie Ferrara of Santa Clara, and stepchildren Lois Wilson and Scott Dowens.
John served in the Infantry in WWII and was honored with a Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal for good conduct. He was a dealer and owner of West Valley Ford on Stevens Creek in Santa Clara. After retirement from the car business, he continued to work for Heritage Insurance, which he was one of the original founders.
John loved to spend his leisure time riding his horses. He referred to himself as a "Weekend Cowboy".
Memorial Service: Johnson Funeral Home, January 25, 2014 at 2:00pm. Reception to follow at Mama Mia's at 275 Dunne Ave., Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
