Known affectionately as Bozo, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A skilled boat captain and commercial fisherman, he dedicated his life to providing for his family, having started in the trades at just 15. Bozo had a passion for woodworking and loved fishing in the picturesque bayous of his home. He had a special fondness for children and took young Mr. Tim Griffin under his wing, mentoring him to take over on the boats as he transitioned away from life as a riverman. Above all, Bozo was proud of his family, especially his children.
Those left to cherish Bozo's wonderful memory is his wife of 44 years, Dianne Ackman Sauce; his children Rachel, Sarah, and Averie; four granddaughters and one grandson with another on the way; one sister, Florence Dale Businelle and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Joseph Sauce and Gertrude Duval Sauce and his siblings, Barbara Meredith, Lloyd J. Sauce, Francis J. Sauce, and Clyde D. Sauce.
In keeping with Robert's wishes services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
