An adoring husband, father, and grandfather, Michael loved his family endlessly. He was truly heartbroken with the loss of his wife, Linda, who was the love of his life. A very giving and caring family man, Michael did everything to care for his loved ones, even to the point of putting himself last. Michael was an excellent cook, his specialty being his Spaghetti which isn't surprising considering his Italian heritage. Armed with excellent dad jokes, Michael made life with his family fun. He was also a devote father to his two fur dogs, who he loved just as much as his biological child. A very intelligent and well-educated man, Michael worked over 30+ years as a teacher, sharing his knowledge and passion for Chemistry. His daughter referred to him as a nerd and very much appreciated his help in school when she took Chemistry. Michael was obviously a patient teacher, having not only taught but also tutored high school aged students after his retirement. Other passions for Michael included gardening, football and LSU Football. As a proud graduate of LSU, the latter isn't surprising either.
Those left to cherish Michael's wonderful memory are his daughter, Ashley Carver and her husband, Larry; his granddaughter, Presley Carver; one sister, Sandra LeBlanc and brother, Wayne Streva. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Rubie and Charlotte.
He was reunited in heaven with his wife, Linda Anderson Streva; his parents, Angelo and Marjorie Streva; his paternal and maternal grandparents.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 11am until time of services at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of life for Michael will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 2pm at Hargrave Funeral Home with Michael being laid to rest with Linda in the Morgan City Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad and Army Military Honor Guard.
