Jimmie was a true Cajun who found solace and joy amidst the bayous and winding rivers. His passion for hunting and fishing was unparalleled, and he thrived in the great outdoors, whether navigating in his boat or being at the camp. Restlessness was foreign to Jimmie; he was constantly in motion, always messing with some item or another. His family cherishes the memories of their childhood, where the soundtrack of Jimmie's life was the vibrant rhythms of 70's rock 'n' roll. To provide for his family, Jimmie worked as an exceptional welder, a skill he had since he was seventeen. Jimmie's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who held him dear.
Those left to cherish Jimmie's wonderful memory is his wife, Renee Rulf of Bayou L'Ourse; his former wife and mother of his children, Lynda Rulf of Baker, his three sons, Jimmie Shane Rulf and his partner, Shaina, of Berwick, Joseph Michael Rulf and his partner, Kristie, of Morgan City, and Jacob Daniel Rulf and his partner, Brianna, of Bayou L'Ourse; one stepson, Chazz Barnes of Morgan City; one step daughter, Laney Brignac of Bayou L'Ourse; his mother, Leona Rulf; four siblings, Murlin Rulf, Sally Bourg, Peggy Lovell, and Bobbie Rulf. He was also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was reunited in heaven with his father, Frank Rulf; his two beloved dogs, Jumper and Bo Rulf and best friend, Shane Hester.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 9am to 11am with a moment to share memories of Mr. Jimmie taking place at 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held privately at a later date by the family.
