Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, LA. Mass of Christian will be held at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1011 1st Street Patterson, LA. Burial will follow in Ibert's Cemetery in Patterson, LA.
Donnez Thompson was born in Patterson, LA on September 10, 1955. Shortly after her birth she was baptized.
Donnez, as young girl, grew up with eleven other siblings and plenty of cousins that she loved very dearly. Later in life Donnez married and had five children that she loved and raised to the best of her ability. Donnez joy was becoming a grandmother and spoiling her grandchildren and going to the Casino.
Donnez loved eating out, going to yard sales, doing DYI projects and planting seasonal vegetables.
Donnez was a loved person anyone that knew her always had something positive to say. She was the backbone of the whole family and took care of anyone in need.
Donnez love and generosity will be missed but never for gotten. She was a woman of faith in God and was a blessing to all she knew and served throughout her life.
Donnez leaves to cherish her memories four sons; David (Courtney) Thompson of Patterson, LA, Arthur (Andrea) Thompson of San Diego, CA, Troy (Avante’) Thompson of Marietta, CA, Derrion Moore of Baton Rouge, LA, two daughters; Neka Thompson of Patterson, LA, and Sierra Thompson of Prarieville, LA, six brothers; Johnny (Celita) Verdun, Mario (Audrey) Verdun, Robert (Carolyn) Verdun, Chucky Verdun, Laven Verdun and Craig (Marion) Verdun all of Patterson, LA, four sisters; Joann(Alex) Labry, Jessie (Anthony) Decuir, Mary Jo ( Randell) Lopez, and Shelleta Clay all of Patterson, LA, grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Khyri Harris, Damyri Thompson, Da’Khyrian Thompson, Jordan Todd, David Thompson, Jolie Thompson, Jayden Thompson, Mylee Thompson, Milan Thompson, Troy Thompson, Jr., Amya Thompson, Amir Thompson, Alessia Carr, Camille Carr and one Great grandson; Kylen Harris, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Donnez was preceded in death by her parents, James and Geraldine Verdun, Paternal grandparents, Robert and Lillian Verdun, Maternal grandparents; Joseph and Zenobia Taylor Gobert, and two brothers; Gordon and Troy Verdun.
