Brenda Lirette Liner, 68, passed with peace and grace, her loving family by her side, on the early morning of April 15, 2015. She was a native of Bayou duLarge and a longtime resident of Morgan City.
Brenda, “Aunt B,” drove the special needs school bus for the St. Mary Parish School Board for the last 17 years. She loved her job and loved “her kids.” She had a heart of gold, a pantry full of snacks, and a room full of “treasures” from the ABC catalogue and freebies from the casino.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rogers Liner, who hasn’t left her side since she became ill in March, sons Teddy and spouse Brenda, and Kelly. Surviving siblings include sisters Rhonda (Edward) Smith, Debra McCune, Amanda “Lulu” (Junior) Voisin, and Trudy Fanguy; brothers Jesse (Mercedes) Lirette, Paul (Theresa) Lirette, Gary (Frances) Lirette, Curt (Wenona) Lirette, Phillip (Robin) Lirette, and Peter (Brenda) Lirette. Also left to cherish her memory are her “surrogate” children- nieces Vickie Hebert, Marilea M. Liner-Guillotte and Raina Byars, nephews Seth Hebert, Jarret Hebert, Liam Guillotte, and Jaxon Guillotte, and close friends Carolyn and Jerry Watson and Drue and Jeanie Clement, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Liner, parents Robert and Leola Lirette, mother and father-in-law Alvin and Melvina Liner, sisters Judy Lirette, Betty LaCoste, brother, Robert Lirette, Jr, brothers-in-law Morris Liner, Louis Liner, David Fanguy, and Mac LaCoste.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 5:30 P.M.– 9:00 P.M. and will continue from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City. Pastor L. John Locasio will officiate services beginning at 10:00 A.M. with burial to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Seth Hebert, Jarret Hebert, Liam Guillotte, Heath Guillotte, Murray Hebert, and Morris Liner, Jr.
