Bernadette “Bernie” Lyall Bergeron, 74, a native of Gibson and a resident of Patterson passed away, Sunday October 7, 2012 at her home while surrounded by her family and friends.
Bernie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Oscar “Red” Bergeron of Patterson; four children, Sheryl Perez and her husband, Bob, of New Orleans, Terry Bergeron and his wife, JoAnn, of Patterson, Jerri Smith and her husband, Jack, of Baton Rouge, Bobbie Rochel and her husband, Glenn, of Patterson; 10 grandchildren, Kasey, Teisha, Erin, T.J., Lee, Jami, Ashley, Jacki, Tallie, and Ali; 8 great grandchildren, Bryce, Tate, Blayne, Camren, Trey, Jaxon, Ethan, and Jaden; and three sisters, Janice “Ann” Salmon, Rosalie Lyall, and Kathy Landry.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Bergeron; her parents, Archie and Cecilia Brady Lyall; her brother, Johnny Joe Lyall; and two sisters Mary Lyall Boudreaux and Emma Lyall.
Bernie loved her family immensely. Her great grandchildren, grandchildren, children, and her husband were her life and world. She also enjoyed cross stitching, reading, and cooking. She taught Sunday School for many years.
The family requested that visitation be observed Tuesday October 9th from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral. Visitation will resume Wednesday, October 10th from 8am Hargrave Funeral Home with funerals services taking place at 10am. Graveside services will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
