While living in Los Angeles, Ca. he attended Hudson Elementary School, Henry Clay Middle School, and went on to attend Washington High School. In 1976 he was baptized as a Jehovah Witness.
He has always been a true entrepreneur with unlimited ideas he in turn started several businesses one of which was a security bar business in Los Angeles Ca. In his early years he married Barbara Jean Smith and with Latrice, Donnie, Charmen, and Chrislon they had their family. After the marriage ended Sherman Smith continued to pursue many different business adventures.
While throughout the majority of his life he gravitated more towards friends and associates in the L.A area, in his later years and after becoming a single father raising his youngest daughter Unekia, he eventually settled down closer to his mother Joyce Smith in the Moreno Valley/Hemet area where the 3 of them would go on to create their own mini adventures, which kept his family busy.
He is proceeded in death by his father Charles Edward Smith II, Duane Spears, Amber Smith and Stanley Taylor. He is survived by his mother Joyce Smith, Brother Charles E. Smith III and wife Felicia Smith, his sister Diane Bishop, his brother Kerry R. Smith Sr. and wife Michelle Smith, his Ex-wife Barbra Jean Smith, children LaTrice, Donnie, Charmen, Chrislon, Unekia and a host of nieces and nephews.
