Paul Vernon Haisty of Moreno Valley, California passed away September 20, 2022 at the age of 92 in his home surrounded by family. Paul was born August 11, 1930 in Winchester, Arkansas to the late John Sherwood Haisty and Grace Barton Brown. To all that knew him, and everyone knows that Paul never met a stranger, his devotion, generosity, and love for his friends, family and community will be greatly missed--as will be his many Facebook posts.
His life began in Winchester, Arkansas where his father, John Sherwood Haisty, was the bookkeeper and managed the plantation store for the Taylor Family. Teaching continues to be a tradition in the Haisty family.
Paul graduated from Tillar High School and studied to be a teacher/coach at the University of Arkansas and at the State Teacher’s College now known as the University of Central Arkansas but he made the decision to return to military service where he retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was of the Baptist faith. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as Pappy by some and Grandpa by others.
Paul’s family is forever grateful to God for the years they had with him, and his wisdom will live on in all of us.
