Oscar Corral, 60, of East Los Angeles, California, passed away March 22, 2023, at home from natural causes surrounded by his family. He was born in El Paso, Texas, to Josefina Arredondo and Gabriel Corral on December 30, 1962. He is survived by his son Oscar K. Corral siblings Armando Corral, Armida Corral, Leticia Estrada, Danny Corral, Michael Corral and many nieces and nephews.
He grew up in East Los Angeles with his five brothers, and two sisters. He attended Rowan Avenue elementary school, Robert Louis Stevenson junior high school, and James A. Garfield High School. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1980-1984. He was a Cement Mason from 1985 to 2023.
He enjoyed watching sports and cheering for his favorite teams the Miami Dolphins, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, cars, and Marine Corps memorabilia. He also enjoyed working on cars and collecting them. His two cars were a 1941 Chevrolet Deluxe and a 1951 Pontiac Chieftain. He was also an avid member of The Originals of East LA car club since 2013.
He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, and friend who loved his family. He loved to spend quality time with family and friends. His hobbies consisted of reading books, doing crossword puzzles, and watching trivia game shows such as Jeopardy. He loved watching documentaries about history and war, he also enjoyed watching shows about conspiracies. His time spent in the Marine Corps is something he would always treasure with the stories he told about being stationed overseas in Okinawa, Japan.
Oscar will forever be loved and missed by all his family and friends; to all his friends he was known as Casper and he will forever be cemented into everyone’s heart as the toughest and coolest son, brother, uncle, father, and friend.
