James Lee Wallace

James Lee Wallace (Known as "Chip") was born October 19, 1954 in Monterey Park, Ca. He has lived in Azusa, big Bear Lake, Encino, Idyllwild, porter Ranch, San Bernardino, San Diego, Studio City, Sherman oaks, Toluca Lake, Palm Springs, Duluth, MN, New York City, and Hong Kong.

He graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio Television and Film, with a co-degree in Media Management. Chip's career was in television news, holding various roles, such as writer, editor, reporter, anchor, field producer, and field cameraman. He was trained at San Bernardino Valley College at KVCR in the 1970's. From there, he worked for KNBC Los Angeles, CNBC New York, KBJR Duluth, MN, KNSD San Diego, KMIR Palm Springs, KCAL Los Angeles, KTLA Los Angeles, and KABC Los Angeles, to name a few.

Over the years, Chip won Emmy Awards for Investigative News reports and for coverage of the 1996 Olympic Bombing in Atlanta for KNBC. He won Radio and TV News Association Awards as a writer, and reporter.

Chip loved sailing, and owned a few sailboats that allowed him to live his passion for boating in Marina Del Rey, as well as other various sailing journeys to San Diego, Catalina Island, and day-trips out on the Pacific Ocean. He loved classic cars and sports cars, motorcycles, museums, movies, theater, photography, skiing, ice skating, traveling to the South West, and truely enjoyed clasical music, especially live events at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles and other venues in New York City. He loved Thai food and indian food, especially a MAsala Dosa! He was also an avid Morse Code and Ham Radio operator, and shared the name call letters as his grandfather. W6POO

Chip always had a smile on his face when his picture was taken. He will be tremendously missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Step-father, partner, nieces, nephew, and cousins.
