Clara Anita (Green) Williams began her life on April 16, 1971 in Folkston, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of Eddie James Green and Doretha Johnson. Clara’s childhood was very active and athletic. She played multiple sports and excelled in track but ultimately, her favorite sport was basketball. During her senior year in 1989, she helped guide her team, the Charlton County Indians, to appear in the Georgia State championship.
After graduating high school in 1989, Clara attended Brewton Parker College, in Mount Vernon, Georgia where she continued playing basketball. After one year of college, Clara made the ultimate life decision to join the US Army Reserves. She would go on to complete basic training and advanced individual training as a unit supply clerk. Clara was activated in support of Operation Desert Shield as well as Operation Desert Storm in August of 1990.
In 1991, Clara moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina. She met the love of her life Milton Sherriel Williams Jr. and they welcomed their first child, Milika Sherriel Williams on October 14, 1992. Soon after on December 27, 1992, Clara and Milton were united in holy matrimony in Dillon, South Carolina.
Over the next few years, Milton’s military commitment required several moves. The first move was in 1993 to Hohenfels, Germany. While overseas, Clara worked as a secretary for three different establishments. She traveled to many different countries such as Amsterdam, Poland and Czechoslovakia to name a few. Before leaving Germany and returning to the U.S., Milton and Clara welcomed their son, Milton Sherriel Williams III in July of 1996.
In November of 1996, Milton was assigned to Fort Irwin, California. This is where they would spend the next four years of their lives raising their two children. Clara would continue her education by receiving an Associates Degree from the University of Southern Illinois. In July 2001, the family was once again reassigned to March Air Reserve Base in Riverside, California where Clara worked as a Secretary Office Administrator.
Clara enjoyed going back home to Georgia to visit her family during birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed cooking and eating her favorite foods, especially her brother’s famous crab broil. She also enjoyed relaxing in her own space, watching her favorite television shows such as The Bold and the Beautiful, the Young and the Restless, Judge Judy and many western films. She loved music, Prince, Anita Baker and her favorite gospel records. Clara enjoyed most of all, long heartfelt phone conversations with all of her many best friends who over the years, became more like family.
On September 25, 2020, Clara welcomed her grandson Miles X Robinson. Clara was very fond of Miles; it was like experiencing the love of her children Milika and Milton once again. She loved spending almost every second of her free time loving, playing and helping raise Miles, her pride and joy.
Clara leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 29 years, Milton S. Williams Jr. of Sun City, California. Two children, Milika S. Williams of Sun City, California and Milton S. Williams III of Riverside, California. One grandchild, Miles X. Robinson., Moreno Valley, California. Her loving mother, Doretha Johnson, Folkston, Georgia. Her Father, Eddie James Green, St. George Georgia. Grand Mother Lucille Green, St. George Georgia. Three brothers: Eddie Green of Folkston, Georgia. Julington Shaw of Moreno Valley, California. Sherrod Davis of Marietta, Georgia. One sister Terra Redmon (Michael) of Folkston, Georgia. A host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service for Clara will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Miller Jones Mortuary and Crematory. The address is 23618 Sunnymead Blvd, Moreno Valley, CA 92553.
