Cecilia Ann Orozco was born on August 19, 1951, in Washington D.C. Growing up she lived in several locations as her stepfather was in the military but settled in Cypress, CA. She married Steve Orozco in 1970, again traveling the world and states as a US Air Force wife and mother. They divorced in 1998.
After returning to California Cecilia worked at Syntone Treatment Center, group homes for abused children, and eventually became the Administrator of three group homes in the Anaheim area known as Bona Vita Center for Children. There she blossomed into a revered and respected director influencing and making a huge difference in the lives of countless children. She retired in 2015.
Cecilia passed away on November 11, 2022, after a short but valiant struggle with cancer. She is survived by her partner of 17 years, Sonya Chyle; children Natasha (Lucas) Gutierrez, Erika (Johnny) Carter, and Greg (Kiersten) Orozco; sisters Debbie (Lloyd) Lofton, Valerie (Terry) Boyd, and Lisa Smart George; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil Smart and Joanne Ringquist, and her sister Tina Smart.
Cecilia was loved, admired and respected by all who had the pleasure to know her and will be forever missed.
