Brenda Joyce Walters

Brenda Joyce Walters was born in Los Angeles, California on December 9, 1949, to Charlie and Verlene Walters. She was born the second child of ten children. Brenda graduated from Jordan High School in Los Angeles, California. Brenda began working for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at the age of 18 and remained an employee for over 55 years. She was a member of New City Church in North Long Beach initially under Pastor Carl Kromminga and later Pastor Tim Cordova (March 2019). Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family. She was often on FaceTime with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She had a great sense of humor and she always kept things real. She was generous in giving. She loved to shop for others and herself. When she was unable to attend family events, she would always join the event virtually via Zoom or FaceTime.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her sister Crystal Walters. She is survived by her son Eric and daughter-in-law Mary; three grandchildren Erica N. (White) Rodriguez (Bairodis Rodriguez), Eric W. White Jr. (Crystal Davis), Elisa J. White; and five great-grandchildren Ariann E. White, Exevier A. Rodriguez, Enailis A.M. Rodriguez, Cayson J. White, and Eystin B. Rodriguez. Her eight brothers and sisters Yvonne Walters-Simmons (Jerome B. Simmons Sr - deceased), Charlene Walters, Charlie Walters Jr. (Darnell Walters), Randy C. Walters (Marala Walters), Uneeda Walters-Petty (James W. Petty), Pamela D. Walters-Duarte (Benny Duarte), Stephanie A. Walters, and Dwayne I. Walters (Joyce Walters). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended in-laws, and friends.

A visitation for Brenda will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Miller Jones Mortuary and Crematory, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, California. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 23618 Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, California. A graveside service will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Miller Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, California. A reception will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Miller Jones Menifee Memorial Park and Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, California.
