Richard Procida

Richard Procida, a resident of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2024. He was 82 years old. Richard was born on June 15, 1941, in Queens, NY to the late Alfred and Theresa (Nieves) Procida. Before his retirement, Richard spent his career supporting the educators of East New York, Brooklyn as United Federation of Teachers District Representative. He also taught middle school English. Richard loved life and his family, and among many things enjoyed music, tennis and photography.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ellen Gallin Procida, his children Richard and Marc Procida, his daughter-in-law Christine Blazejewski, his grandchildren Victoria and Jaeden, as well as by his brother Charles Procida.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th from 11:30 am - 1 pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548. The family will be receiving visitors on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday May 20, 21 and 22 from 1 pm - 8:30 pm at 38 Amalfi Drive Cortlandt Manor NY 10567.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to a charity of your choice or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or Hospice of Westchester.
