Peter J. Lazzara

Peter J. Lazzara, a resident of Liberty, NY and former resident of Buchanan, NY, passed away on January 17, 2024. He was 52 years old. Pete was born on November 10, 1971 in Peekskill, NY to the late Peter J. and Marjorie (Scott) Lazzara. Pete was the type of person that would do anything for you, funny and always had a smile. He battled his demons over the years, but did reach his ultimate goal to be sober. In his later life, he was very religious and found his passion with God. He enjoyed to spend time with his family, especially his mother, his friends, going to shows to see his favorite bands and music. He will be dearly missed.

In Pete’s own words to his mother, he wrote; “There is no greater gift than having complete trust and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who brings peace to the broken hearted.

Psalms 73:26 - My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Ephesians 1 3-5 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”

He is survived by his daughter Dorian Lazzara, his cousins and his closest friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 28th from 4-8pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY 10548 with a prayer service at 7:30pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
