Marie V. Glashoff

Marie Glashoff, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2022. Marie was born on February 21, 1934 in Verplanck, NY to Julia (Van Cura) and Joseph Vaughey. She was a graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School. On June 18, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, George Glashoff. They were married for 66 years.

Marie worked as a dental assistant for many years in Yorktown. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a devoted grandmother. She was a staple along with her husband George for years and years and years at all of the Hendrick Hudson basketball, baseball and softball games her children and grandchildren participated in. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to visit her daughter.

Marie is survived by her children Raymond Glashoff (LuAnne) of Buchanan, NY, Barbara (Tim) O’Brien of Las Vegas, NV and John (Susan) Glashoff of Montrose, NY. She adored her eight grandchildren: Garrett, Julie, Chelsea and Hunter Glashoff; Robert, Matthew, Amy and Johnny Glashoff. She is also survived by her sister Ann Cunane of Charlotte, NC and her brother Ray Vaughey of Poughkeepsie, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband George and sister Joan Vaughey Moorhead.

Marie was a special lady. She had a quiet sense of humor and loved a whiskey sour now and then. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3rd from 4-8pm at Edward F Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, January 4th at 10:15am at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
