Katherine A. Stewart

Katherine A. Stewart of Buchanan, NY passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 57. Kathy was born to Frank and Patricia (Miller) Wassil on November 6, 1960 in Peekskill, NY. She worked as an RN caring for the elderly at Kendall on Hudson. For 33 years, Kathy was a dedicated member of the Cortlandt Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was acting president. She loved to crochet and knit but most of all she loved her grandchildren and family.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband Robert Stewart, cherished son Jason Stewart (Trista), beloved parents Frank and Patricia Wassil, adored grandchildren Angelina, Daylin, Travis, and Everly, caring siblings Patricia Ludington (Raymond), her twin sister Karen Roberts, Denise Schneider (Jake), and brother Frank Wassil, Jr. (Melissa), many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and by her dog Brody.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at St. Christopher’s Church, Buchanan, NY. Committal is private.
