John was born on March 15, 1945 in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Peter Michael and Marguerite (Brennan) McGarry. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran who served proudly from 1966 to 1968. He worked for many years at the Van Cortlandt Golf Course in the Bronx, NY.
He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret J. McGarry; loving daughters, Jessica and Melissa McGarry; caring brothers and sister, Peter J. McGarry Jr. and William F. McGarry and Patricia M. Santaniello and his adoring grandchildren, Matthew Doran and Bianca McGarry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visiting will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-8 pm with a Funeral Service at 8 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY 10548. Cremation Services will be private.
