A long-time resident of Cortlandt Manor, John worked in Manhattan as a Customs and International Trade Law attorney at Galvin & Mlawski. He received his B.A. at Manhattan College and J.D. at Western New England School of Law. He was actively involved with St. Christopher’s Catholic Church for many years, serving as Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
John was an amazing example of courage and strength. He was the rock to his family and beloved by many. John will forever be remembered by his family and friends for his incredible sense of humor and most importantly, his selflessness and loving heart.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Marsha Galvin; his mother, Patricia (Galvin) Stroffolino; his sisters, Patricia Miner and Karen Mattern; his children, Elizabeth Cupples and John J. Galvin III; his grandson, Mason Cupples; and many extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, May 1st at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home at 170 Kings Ferry Road in Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, May 2nd at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church at 3094 Albany Post Road in Buchanan, NY.
