George H. Glashoff passed away peacefully on March 23rd 2022. George was born January 21st 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to Lillian (Lansing) and George Glashoff. He met Marie Glashoff in his early teens and they became high school sweethearts. Married June 18th 1955, they celebrated 66 years together.
George worked for IBM in Fishkill for 33 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his family vacationing at the beach. He also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to visit his daughter. George was a book of knowledge. An avid Hendrick Hudson Sailor, he and his wife enjoyed going to sports events in the local community and afar, especially the ones his grandchildren played in.
George was a special man who was admired by everyone in the community. He was a proud man most devoted to his family. We had the chance to make wonderful memories and truly see just how remarkable a man he was.
George is survived by his wife Marie, sons Raymond Glashoff (LuAnne) of Buchanan, New York and John (Susan) Glashoff of Montrose, New York and daughter Barbara (Tim) O’Brien of Las Vegas, Nevada. He adored his eight loving grandchildren: Garrett, Julie, Chelsea, Hunter, Robert, Matthew, Amy and Johnny. He is also survived by his sisters Carol (Joseph) Rist of Fishkill, New York and Virginia Lounsbury (Louie) of Mahopac, New York along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 28th 2022 at 10:15 AM at The Church of the Holy Spirit in Cortlandt Manor, New York. Friends may call on Sunday, March 27th 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carter’s Funeral Home in Montrose, New York.
