À Ste-Adèle, le 29 juillet, est décédée madame Suzanne Martel, épouse de Me Maurice Martel c.r., à la suite d’une longue maladie. Outre son époux, elle laisse dans le deuil ses six fils : Paul (Rebekah Crown), Bernard (Josette Poulin), Luc (Suzanne Lavigne), Éric, Anadi (Deva Prem) et Yves (Hélène Bossanyi); ses six petits-enfants : Geneviève, Mayalène, Thierry, Camille, Marguerite et Solange; ses arrière-petits-enfants: Mila et Gaël; des belles-sœurs, des neveux et nièces et de nombreux septièmes fils.
Elle était un écrivain de renommée internationale, à qui une rubrique Wikipedia est consacrée. Elle a écrit plus de 40 romans, nouvelles ou contes, non seulement pour les jeunes, mais aussi pour un lectorat adulte, dont une vingtaine ont été publiés et quelques-uns traduits en plusieurs langues. Au cours des années, son œuvre a été reconnue par pas moins de 16 prix littéraires, y compris le Prix du Gouverneur général et le Prix de la Province de Québec. Qui n’a pas lu son captivant roman historique : Jeanne, fille du Roy?
Parents et amis sont invités à une célébration de la vie et de l’œuvre de Suzanne Martel, le samedi 25 août 2012, de 14 à 17 heures,
