Susan is survived by her sons, Campbell (Sarah Barker) and Garvin (Steffanie Diamond), as well as her grandchildren, Madison, Chandler, Ryan and Isabel, and her sisters, Janet, Paula and Julia, and brothers Brian (Gail Tansey) and Peter (Diana Horwood). She is also survived by her fifteen nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for deeply.
Susan was born in Montreal on February 2nd, 1944, to the Honorable Paul Charles Casey and Yvonne Holland Casey. In 1966, Susan married George Garvin Brown III of Prospect, Kentucky. While their marriage was not long, their friendship and partnership lasted their shared lifetime.
Susan's life was filled with travel, friendships and a lifelong love of the arts and classical music. Susan insisted that we all “spread our joy,” and in each room she entered, that is exactly what she did. Her elegance was matched with a quick sense of humour, grace and effortless style. From Montreal to Florida, and from Louisville, KY to London, England, Susan loved the acquaintances that became her friends, and friendships that were cherished over a lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations be made in her memory to the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix, the international academy of dance and music in Charlevoix, Quebec. There will be a celebration of her life this Spring in Montreal.
