Obby was my classmate and lifelong friend. 
I consider him my brother and his lost has shocked me and my family and deeply left us heartbroken 
My first memories of Obby ( he hated that name to begin with but it stuck ! ) were Him rafe and basil gambling at school at lunch hoping not to get caught. 
Out in London Obby would always disapear but jumping on and off old london buses that he loved. 
Obby always had a scam on the go , always a venture that was gonna make him his millions and we loved him for that. His humour and his optimism shone and he could make you crack up with one word or one look. 
Obby was a true diamond. He really looked after me after my motorbike crash and would come to hospital every single day and sit there and tell me his adventures of his latest second hand car or Saturday job 
We hung after almost every eve, playing snooker , drinking pints and putting his petrol money in fruit machines knowing it was about to pay out, and it usually did 
Obby was truly the funniest man I have ever known and also the kindest. He would literally do anything for a friend in need no matter what 
He had had heart of gold 
Obby , I will miss you so deeply 
You were my brother 


Remembering Rob from our days at school and our early adulthood.

If you were in trouble and asked him, he'd help you out without question. He was always ready for a chat over a pint, an evening out, and a laugh when you needed one.

He is much missed, and you have my heartfelt condolences.


Very sad news about the Passing of Robert at such a young age. Found memories when he used to visit us. Although my brothers friend he was always welcome. He was a lovely bloke and always ready to lend a hand. My and My family's thoughts are with Gill and Paul . May he rest in peace. 

Our sincerest condolonces to Genevieve, Gillian and Paul, and everyone else who knew Rob. It was nice to meet Gillian and Paul this evening. It was a pleasure talking to them and it was evident that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Very nice people, just like Rob. Genevieve , you've done an amazing job looking after Rob's affairs and it's appreciated by all.

I knew Robert as British Rob. I met him through a friend, Angie. I guess we called him British Rob because there was another Rob in the group of friends and that way we would not confuse the two of them. Rob was a person that made you feel comfortable , at ease. He had this relaxed demeanour about him. Seemed never stressed.  I remember him always with a smile on his face. Funny. Well spoken and sophisticated. Interesting. Great taste in music. He made me discover Kruder and Dorfmeister.  British Rob was a great story teller. Gentle person.  He will be missed greatly.

He is deeply missed. While our lives had taken paths to different ends of the world our friendship was one where it was like time had never passed when we saw one another. I never expected my last drink with him would be the last.  
Obs and I lived together in the early 2000s and  we built a family of sorts over meals prepared, nights out, drinks and lots of partying. It was the start of his journey to Canada and the time he met Gen. He was forever delighting and horrifying us in his dry and morbid humour. He was the most loyal friend and he would just quietly turn up without question and be there for those he loved. We had so many long and boozy pub lunches where we talked and laughed for hours. I was lucky to visit Rob in Canada to see the life he had built and then Obs would regularly just appear back in London for brief periods, without warning, and we would be back to the pub like nothing had changed.
Obs, I'll be raising a glass to you and remembering all the fun times. You are in my thoughts and embedded in my memories.

I had the pleasure of working with Robert for the past 4 years, and for the last 2 years, I had the honor of managing Robert.
From the get go as a manager Robert was so kind, caring and gracious.  He was the life of the party and the thrill of the team.  His quick wit and hilarious sense of humor carried our team through some of our more challenging times, and for that I will forever be grateful for Robert's endearing demeanor.
My absolute favorite memory with Robert was when I was first taking on as manager of his team.  I asked his team to humor me and play a team building game with my other teams.  The game was "Two Truths and a Lie".  Each team member had to tell 3 facts, 2 of which were true and 1 was a lie.  It was up to the rest of the team to try to decipher what was true and what was a lie.  When I came across Robert's 3 "facts" I immediately could not wait to play the game.  Robert went to great, elaborate lengths to tell his facts, and they all seemed wayyyyy too outlandish.  There was no way any of his "facts" could be true, let alone 2 of them!  I was so eager for him to share his quick wit with the rest of the team. I asked him to lead everyone in the game by going first and setting the stage for a fun time.  Robert rose to this challenge and then some.  He told his stories with so much animation and enthusiasm he had the entire team rolling with laughter.  His cynical nature and knack for witty humor has been greatly missed by his team, and forever will be.  Our team is not the same without him, and we will forever have a hole where he once was.  He truly can not be replaced.  Thank you for sharing him with us at Intelerad :)
