Mary Elizabeth Lund (nee Gilker) passed away peacefully on September 23rd, 2024 at the age of 92. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Arlene and has gone on to be reunited with her beloved husband, Frede.
She was born in New Richmond, Quebec on February 14, 1932 to Herbert (Bertie) and Lillian (Lily, nee Robertson) Gilker and came to Montreal in 1951, married, raised her daughter, and made her life here.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her sister Gwen, her brothers Jim, Richard, and Roderick. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Keith and Wilson as well as many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.
She faced the challenges of her last two years with profound strength and acceptance. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 4th floor of the Vigi Reine Elizabeth where she was cared for with kindness, compassion, and respect until the end.
