After a long battle with illness, Maria passed away peacefully at the age of 83. She leaves to mourn her husband of 58 years Belmiro Da Mota, her son Manuel (Helena), her grandchildren Tony and Miguel as well as many friends and relatives. Maria loved life and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation will take place on January 25, 2012 at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at St-Ignatius-of-Loyola Parish, 4455 West Broadway, Montreal, H4B 2A7 at 11 am followed by a burial at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
