He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jane (Cunningham). Jerry was a devoted father to Jennifer, Ian (Helene) and Scott (Kati), and a cherished grandfather to Jessie, Harry, Shannon, Charlotte and Ella. He will be greatly missed by all of them. Jerry was predeceased by his sisters Patricia, Kathleen and Eileen and by his brother Harry. His loss is felt by his many nieces and nephews.
He will also be missed by everyone at the St. Andrew's Residential Centre.
Jerry was passionate about education and had a long and meaningful career as a teacher, principal, senior school board administrator and university professor. He was instrumental in the creation of the Fine Arts Festival during his time at the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal.
Jerry was a long time member, chorister, Elder, Clerk of Session and avid Men's Breakfaster at Kensington Presbyterian Church. Jerry loved his many summers spent with family and friends on Porter's Point, Vermont and at Lac Marois in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Quebec.
A visitation will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. as well as from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15 2023 at 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec H4A1W5. Parking available in the back of the funeral home on Marcil street.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 16 at the funeral home chapel.
