I am Charles' daughter from Trinidad.  Can't remember Uncle Clarence too much, but I am familiar with Aunty Roslyn Aunty Floris.  Wish I had gotten to know him.  I am glad that I was finally able to see pictures of my paternal grandparents. 

Uncle Clarence, you have been a spiritual blessing to your family, friends and all who know you. Your gentle spirit and easy laugh have brought much happiness. I will cherish the phone calls and emails. May you rest in peach with the Heavenly Father as you leave love and memories for our family to love each other more and cherish your memory.

I can't imagine how you feeling as I love my folks so much but God is our strength and your Dad is in a safe place which is unbelievable for our minds to comprehend. Allow me to express my sincerest sympathy at the passing of Bro. Clarence Ashby. He certainly was a cherished and memorable part of my life as I began my walk with the lord. 

I am forever grateful for the families love and care for me during those teenage years and pray God's comfort and care as you learn to walk this journey through knowing bro. Ashby is there encouraging you on from heaven above.

To Mrs. Ashby and the Ashby Family,  

We, the Progress Church family, send our love and condolences to you in the loss of your husband, father, and loved one.  

During this difficult time, we commend you to the capable hands of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  God’s word reminds us that He is a very present help.  We can only empathize and assure you that our constant prayers are with you and your family. 

God has promised that he will take care of His own.  Grieve you must, but hold on to the promises. God be with you always. My family and I and the Progress Church family, deeply regret the passing of Brother Clarence Ashby. Truly, he was a man of God. As soldier for Jesus and it is said that a soldier never dies, he only sleeps. 

Thank God he is a sleep in Jesus awaiting the resurrection. Our prayers are with his beloved wife Ruth and children as well as to all family members and Church members of the Brossard Evangelical Centre. We celebrate the legacy that Brother Ashby leaves for so many to follow. 

Know that death is not an end, but a transition to a place free of pain and suffering.  The word of God reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, finished the course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”

Clarence was a very special man. Full of compassion and kindness. He was wonderful to work with, always thinking of how he could make it better for the patients. There is another star in the night sky looking over us.
