It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Jason Rogers on October 17, 2022 at the age of 84. After a long battle with cancer and Alzheimers, he died peacefully in his sleep at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland, Quebec.
He is survived by his loving wife and partner of 52 years Julia D’errico , his step children Robert Santelli, Laura Desrosiers (George) , Mark Santelli (Cristina) and his five grandchildren Tatiana, Erik, Katrina, Alexander, Kaitlyn and Sloane, his great granddaughter, as well his four sisters Sharon Biberdorf (Ken), Leslie Hentschel (John), Susan Rogers (Barry),Ruth Rogers, and his many nieces and nephews.
Brian was born on January 18th, 1938 in Winnipeg , Manitoba to Fred and Helen Rogers (Crook). He was a graduate of the University of Manitoba where he received his bachelor of Architecture in 1962. After graduating, he travelled and experienced Europe and settled in Lausanne , Switzerland to learn French and ski for 2 more years. He then decided to come to Montreal, to see Expo 1967 and to further perfect his French. In 1969 he met Julia at a philosophy class where they discovered that their values and ideas were very similar. In 1970 they began a relationship and a few years later, married. He worked as an architect for Desmarais Tornay, Yaghjian , where he later became an associate.
Brian and Julia loved to ski, travel , enjoy the family and grandchildren, and spent many winters in their Florida residences . They designed and built several homes in Baie d’Urfé, Quebec, where they lived for 45 years. Brian was a devoted, loving, and caring husband, step-father and grandfather. He also cared deeply for his sisters and made sure to keep in touch, even though they lived across the country in Winnipeg and Surrey, B.C.
At this time , the immediate family will have a private service and a celebration of his life will be confirmed at a later date.
