Antonio Valente

Heartbroken and with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Antonio Valente on April 22nd. 2020 at the age of 69, with his wife Vicky and virtually with his children Michael and Lisa by his side.

Tony was predeceased by his parents Angela Rossi and Pietro Valente, his nephew Robert Mercer, brother-in-law Edward Mercer, his mother-in-law Teresa Olechna and grandson Matthew Mears.

He leaves in deep mourning his loving wife of 44 years Vicky Olechna, devoted father of Michael (Lori Martins), Lisa (Shawn Mears) extraordinary grandfather (Nonno) of Natalia and Nicholas Valente and Christopher and Jonathan Mears. Also grieving his loss is his sister and brother-in-law Anna Valente and James Sparkes, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Janina and Ted Olechna, his father-in-law Romuald Olechna and his nephew Andrew Olechna (Tamiko Isaacs) also grieving his loss are his many relatives, friends and all those whose lives he touched.

Tony was a devoted employee for 31 years of Bombardier Aerospace. He was appreciated and respected by his colleagues and co-workers for his friendliness and his dedication to his work.

His devotion to family and friends knew no limits. His most cherished times were those spent with his family and close friends, it was the focus of his life and we are fortunate that he was ours for all those years. Always concerned for others and rarely thinking of himself, even in the midst of pain. Anyone who met him loved him and was loved back. He loved to socialize and interact with people.

He made sacrifices, living his entire life for his family, and his legacy will live on in each of us who he loved so deeply. His greatest accomplishment and pride was his family. He fought as long as he could for the sake of his family, and is finally free from pain and suffering.

Due to current circumstances a restricted family burial will take place on May 8th at Notre –Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery. A memorial and celebration of Tony’s life will be held once we are able to gather again.
