Adam was my dear friend, my brother in this fight for our LGB community. He was so young, too young. It breaks my heart that he is gone. Adam lived by his motto: "Work sets you free." He believed in fighting back, in doing the hard work to make the world better—not just for himself but for everyone like us.

We worked together on so many things—protests, campaigns, long nights imagining a better future. He had this energy, this fire that could lift you up when you felt like giving up. But beneath all that strength, Adam just wanted to dance. Il voulait juste danser.

He deserved more time, more joy. The world is a little less bright without him, but I will carry his fire in my heart. We all will.

I had the pleasure of Adam’s friendship during our years as members of the St Ignatius youth choir, and he brought such a light to all of us. His presence was a gift, and his hugs were amazing. ❤️

Words fail me to express my sorrow at this moment. Your bright personality, your humor, your laughter, our brunches, our craziness, and our genuine conversations will be terribly missed. We met at the most difficult time in our lives. We connected immediately, understanding each other's pain, we cried and laughed together. Through our friendship, we shared hope, love, encouraged each other, discovered ourselves, and healed. I witnessed the happiness that gradually began to illuminate your eyes and your life. I would have loved for you to meet my daughter. We were planning to see each other soon. You would have loved her, and she would have loved you. I loved seeing the tenderness and pride in your eyes when you showed me pictures of your nieces and nephews. I loved knowing you were in love and happy because you deserved all that happiness after all the efforts you made to achieve it.

I will always remember you as a loving, sweet, funny, intelligent, and genuine person. Your light will always shine in this world. You illuminated my life, and you will always remain in my heart.

I love you deeply, and I send your family my most sincere condolences, thoughts, and prayers. I sincerely hope they find some comfort in knowing how much you were loved and cherished.

I'm the friend of Adam's who he visited in Vermont several times in the last few years. I heard all about each member of his family. Adam loved you all very, very much.

Rest in peace, you were a beautiful soul who deserve to live to 199, maybe we all raise a glass to you, and now refer to you as Saint Adam from now on, though we did not talk much, it was very clear that you were an amazing person, and you left such an amazing impact on others, you helped others, and you spread love, may you rest in peace and live in heaven

I met Adam when he was really young through my cousin Michael here in Halifax. I hadn’t seen him in a million years. It was sad and shocking to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his entire family, partner and friends. Grief is like Love, Forever.

Adam was a colleague-turned-friend who I had very strong admiration for. A brilliant human being, he encouraged me to strive for greatness even when the going got tough, even when the odds are stacked against you, and especially when it seemed like life was telling you to give up. He had such an incredible thirst for knowledge and wisdom, and he was so eager to share his learnings and accomplishments with those around him. He knew how to make connections with people and cared deeply about the well-being and success of others.

The passing of such a young and rich mind leaves a painful sorrow in my heart that will never heal. I will forever miss our daily conversations at work, they made my days that much more bearable. My condolences to his family and all who knew him. Rest in peace, my friend.

Adam’s untimely passing has affected so many. I only knew him online, but he was always funny, supportive, & engaging. He had my back many times,  for which I shall be forever grateful.  Sending my sincere condolences to his family, his partner & his many, MANY friends.

I’m so sorry and shocked to hear this. I only knew him through social media, drawn to him by his wit, clarity & kindness. He was a shining light.

Ah! What a loss for the movement to protect women! And for me, personally. When I was going through a very painful and undeserved divorce several years ago, Adam was one of the first people on Twitter (now X) to reach out to me, and tell me I could be more than a husband and father. When my career was in tatters through no fault of my own, it was Adam who introduced me to American superstars like Ron Schneider and Kevin Spacey, allowing me to begin anew in the Land of Opportunity. I owe Adam everything. I’ll miss you, “Big Burger”.

Everyone loved Adam. Everyone. We will all miss him so much.  A bright light in a world that is often too dark.  May his untimely passing somehow make this world a better place. In our pain let us go forward with a fraction of his love and kindness. If we can, we will honor his life and memory. He was a truly good Man.

Adam was one of the kindest people I had interactions with he was always so encouraging to me and others he will be remembered fondly

Powerful. Biting wit. Inspiring. Stunning. Confident. Handsome. Blessed. Loving. Caring. Thoughtful. Outgoing. Now we can add to these traits: Angelic. Saintly. Beloved. 

When you look for role models or true exemplars, Adam is very much someone whom we could all aspire to be. He was a knight par excellence, a warrior for all that is good. Adam's strength and fortitude overcoming every obstacle thrown his way is a testament to his masculine and fighting spirit. But above all, he was someone with warmth and an overwhelmingly uplifting soul. A shining light that offers a heartfelt embrace and a helping hand, a kind voice that says, yes, you do have a purpose in life-you will succeed beyond all knowing or understanding. I think the word that most resonates with Adam is hope. There is no one on earth I can think of that more embodied the virtue of hope.

We go through a lot in life, and Adam was a man that really did help others not just strive but thrive as humans and as fellow travelers - he offered a lifeline and a vision for the future no matter the challenges ahead. Please take with you his message of hope and love, ever seeking a better world and a brighter tomorrow. God bless you, Adam, we love you dearly.

Adam and I didn’t always see eye to eye, and my boy never made it to Malaysia, but we were “X-est Buds” (his term). We always supported each other’s work, and forgave each other’s peccadillos. Adam worked tirelessly on a number of important social issues with me over the last few years, and said it kept him sane and sober. As Adam liked to say, “work sets you free”. You’re free now, sweet bird. Fly away home!

Adam, I'm so devastated by your passing. I am thankful for the 2 years of friendship we have on social media, I am always happy to see your posts, they always put a smile on my face.
