Willie Coleman Baker

Willie Coleman Baker (Bill), age 81 passed away on Wednesday December 13, 2017. Bill was born September 4, 1936. He had a sister, Faye and a brother, Raymond. Both Bill and Raymond served in the Navy after graduating from high school. After his tour in the Navy, Willie became a journeyman with Alabama Power. In his retirement, Bill drove a bus for the Montgomery Area Transit. He enjoyed playing the fiddle and delighted in the melodies of his hymnal. Fishing, gardening, time at the beach mixed with tales of softball and basketball pepper the family memories of this father and husband.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Tanya Lynn Baker Best; his son, Scott Baker and two granddaughters, Ivey Elizabeth Best and Lillian Grace Best.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife; Linda Louise Baker and his parents; Travis and Lucille Baker.

A visitation for Bill will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL.
