ANGLIN, William Cannon, known as Bill, 87, a longtime resident of Montgomery, died at Jackson Hospital on February 13, 2023 following complications from a cardiac procedure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Alonzo Anglin and Mary Inez Cannon. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bettie Cahoon Anglin, and his son, William Ross Anglin. Bill was born on April 1, 1935 in Bruce, Mississippi. He was a dedicated brother to six siblings: Mary Everette, Buddy, Paul, Lindsay, Hilda and Nancy. He graduated from Bruce High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Mississippi State University. He worked as an accountant in the private sector before a long career with the State of Alabama, leading to his tenure as Chief Financial Officer of the Public Service Commission. His varied interests also led him to several side vocations, including as a farmer, grocery store owner and apartment building owner. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church and was devoted to his Poundstone Sunday school class. He was a loving and generous husband, father, brother and community member and will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church Caring Center or to a charity of one’s choice. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 2:00 with Pastor Mark Bethea officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel the same day from 1:00 to 2:00.
