courageous battle with cardiovascular disease. Brent graduated from Robert E. Lee High School
in 1959. He attended and graduated from Auburn University. Brent was President and CEO of
V.M.S., Inc., a lifetime member of the Alabama Cattleman’s Association, member of the
Southeastern Livestock Exhibition, Life Member of the NRA, Charter Member of the Golden
Eagles and Second Amendment Task Force, he was also recognized in the Who’s Who of the
Republican Party.
As an avid Auburn fan, Brent was a lifetime Member of the Auburn Alumni Association and was
nominated 3 times for the prestigious Samford Society which acknowledges alumni who have
contributed to the University. While at Auburn, Brent was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity
and remained a life loyal Sig.
After living for over 25 years in West Autauga County, Alabama, he moved to the Northwest
Flathead Valley of Montana with his wife Shirley. Brent quickly established himself as an
Auburn fan in Somers, Montana with a display of a huge Auburn flag atop the mountain where
he lived overlooking the Flathead Valley.
Brent is preceded in death by his father James W. Camp and mother Blondell W. Camp,
Montgomery, Alabama. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Wilhoite Camp, his 5 children
Shannon Smith (John), Amy Carr (Bernard), Brent Camp, Jr., (Erin), Ashley Pruitt (Glen),
Allison Waid (Andy) and 10 grandchildren, Alex and Austin Fike, Holly and Walker Carr,
Sheridan and Will Camp, Clint Thames, Elizabeth Narmour, Lacy Smith and Miller Waid. His
uncle Herbert Camp of Camden, Tennessee and many dear cousins from the State of Tennessee.
His step-children, Robert Murphy and Tamera Green (Darrell) and step-grandchildren, Ashley
Simmons (Phillip) and Brittany Cox.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike W. Kelley, Michael Kelley, Jr., Bernard Carr, Andrew Waid,
Glen Pruitt, Darryl Green and Mark Oliver.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Leak-Memory Chapel.
Visitation at 2:30 with a service following at 3:30.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
