Virginia Macay Hardy, age 95, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Virginia was born in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph Macay and Sophie Schulte Macay. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, George Emerson Hardy; and her siblings, Joseph Macay and Pat Devolder. Mrs. Hardy is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Searle, Molly (Robert) Zitsch, Janet (Denny) Shields, and Carol (Branch) Kloess; her grandchildren, Ash (Morgan) Searle, Paxton Searle, Whitley and Ford Zitsch, Georgie Zitsch (Chris) Cornell, Connor and Dalton Shields, Branch (Marissa) Kloess Jr. and Lauren Kloess Razick; great grandchildren, Emerson and Branch Kloess III, Hardy and Pace Razick, and Salem Searle; as well as one surviving sibling, Dorothy Delaney.
With a BA in nursing, a majority of her career was spent at Baptist Hospital as a surgical nurse. Outside of work, her hobbies were reading, sewing and spending time with her grandkids. The Hardy family would like to extend a heart-felt "Thank You" to the caring and loving healthcare workers that took care of Virginia for many years. Our chosen family.
A private family memorial service will be set for a later time and date.
