He was born on September 15, 1952, in Dothan, Alabama, and grew up on family farmland in Clayhatchee, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Jones Thompson, his mother, Albie Madelyn Bullington Thompson of Clayhatchee, Alabama, and sister Ora Thompson Nichols Casey of Enterprise, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Messick Thompson of Montgomery, Alabama, son, Adam Thompson of Pike Road, Alabama, son, Brandon Thompson of Montgomery, Alabama, sister, Judy Howell (Kenneth) of Birmingham, Alabama, sister-in-law Rhonda Messick Lonza (John) of Opelika, Alabama, grandchildren Avery Thompson and Everett Thompson of Pike Road, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. His proudest family moments were his Christian Faith, the memories of his late mother, his marriage of 45 years to his wife Barbara, the births of their sons, Adam and Brandon, and their grandchildren, Avery and Everett.
"Just a little talk with Jesus" by Redeemed Quartet was his favorite song. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling, gardening, reading, the Bible, history, browsing youtube, watching movies, and spending time with family.
