Schenzel, Thomas Frank, 78, a longtime resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, died peacefully on June 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmanuel and Arlene Schenzel, his brother Don Schenzel, and his sister Nancy Bass. He is survived by his sister, Mary Robins, and his wife of 19 years, Tanya Schenzel, his daughters Chris Moorman (Calvin), Jacque Ritter (Tony) and Lauren Bennett (Patrick), and his sons Stephen Schenzel, Greg Schenzel, Keith Knight (Luda), and Alex Kotelenets (Heather). He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeff and Jacob Ritter, Samantha Bultron (Felix), Sarah Overmier (Caleb), Ashley Keating (Tyler), Mila Kotelenets, and Milana Knight; his great grandchildren Hayley and Mollie Bultron; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on November 15, 1938. He graduated from East High School in Memphis, TN. Tom always loved photography and Corvettes. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He was able to pursue his passion for working with computers during his 32 years working as a Systems Analyst at UNISYS, and 10 years working in the IT department at Troy University. After his retirement, Tom continued to share his love of computers with others by donating computer systems to schools and charitable organizations. Tom’s gentle and kind personality and loving smile will be remembered by all who knew him. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday July 8, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home.
