Terry Leon Thornton

Terry Leon Thornton, age 57, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Terry was born in Birmingham, Alabama to William Pressley Thornton Jr. and Patricia Ann Herring Thornton. Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his father and his sister-in-law, Amy Jungwirth Thornton.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Andrea Black Thornton; his children, Alexandra Thornton (William) Watters, William Tyler Thornton, Abigail Pressley Thornton, and Jacob Patrick Thornton; his mother, Patricia Ann Herring Thornton; his brother, Wayde Pressley Thornton; and his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Fidelis Valdakis.

Terry grew up in a christian home with his mother, father and older brother. He played baseball and football (quarterback) in his younger years and enjoyed golfing as he got older. He graduated from Lanier High School, class of '84. He enjoyed watching Alabama sports, listening to music, coaching youth baseball, shopping, vacationing at the beach, and watching movies. He loved attending Sunday School and socializing with his many friends. He loved his wife and family more than anything in the world. Terry never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He loved his Lord and Savior and his soul will be missed by all.

A memorial gathering for Terry will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
