Sylvia Jean Stewart

Sylvia Muth Stewart passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 following a brief illness. She was born December 12, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sylvia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, military wife and a caring and accepting friend. She loved playing cards, traveling and golfing. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with all her family and friends. Sylvia is survived by her two brothers, Jack Muth and Jim Muth and wife Dianna, her sister Virginia Ranker and her sister-in-law Anne Stewart. She is also survived by her six children: James (Kristi) Stewart, Virginia (Mike) Masters, Janice (Don) Campbell, Sandra (Mitchell) Stewart, David (Kim) Stewart and Patty (Randall) Calloway. Her 12 grandchildren: Aubrey and Aaron Stewart; Stephen, Jon and Jason Masters; Sandy Martin, Jimmy and Patrick Williams; Tyler and Madison Stewart; Blake and Brandon Calloway and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 5, 2022 at Our Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic Church at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Leak Memory Chapel from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A private burial will be held at Alabama National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic Church, 4421 Narrow Lane Rd., Montgomery, Al., 36116 or COPE Crisis Pregnancy Center, 2158 Madison Ave., Montgomery, Al., 36107.
