Stanley (Stan) Magdon was born in Wilkes Barre, PA, on the 28th of November 1939. He passed away on the 24th of July 2021. He was known to be the life of the party and loved being around people, especially his family. His vibrant personality added much life to the people he was around.
Stan loved to bowl and golf, especially with his son and son-in-laws. He coached junior bowlers in Phillipsburg, NJ and then in Montgomery, AL. Stan won many bowling tournaments on the local and national levels. Later in life, his weekends were spent on the golf course, again winning several local tournaments. Stan liked to travel but couldn’t wait to get back home to his grandchildren and his dogs.
He worked at J.R. Smith Manufacturing Company in Piscataway, NJ, and then moved with the company to Montgomery, AL in 1978. He worked there for a total of 51 years holding several positions.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years Missy McLure Magdon; son Stan (Katrina) Magdon; daughters Chrissy (Billy) Foxworth & Jackie (Scott) Telofski; five grandchildren: Samantha (John David) Gunter; Morgan Foxworth, Andy (Sarah) Telofski, Brett Foxworth; and Stanley Magdon, two step-sons Taylor Otwell and Turner (Flor) Otwell; two grandchildren: Isabella and Sawyer Otwell; and one great-grandchild James Gunter. Stan was the oldest of nine brothers and sisters: Don (Janice) Magdon; Bob (Pat) Magdon; Joyce Yalmeski; Joann (Walt) Zacios; John (Mary) Magdon; Ronnie (Nancy) Magdon; and Gary (Mary) Magdon.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years Carol Ann Urban Magdon; parents Stanley and Irene Magdon; brother Richard Magdon; brother-in-law Joe Yalmeski; and niece Dorrie (Jimmy) Hreha.
Those honored to serve as casket bearers during Thursday’s services are as follows: Andy Telofski, Brett Foxworth, Stanley Magdon, John David Gunter, Taylor Otwell, and Turner Otwell.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from one o’clock in the evening until two o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 29th of July in Heritage Hall Alabama Heritage Funeral Home 10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Al.

The interment will follow via cortege at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
