Shirley Catherine Frith Mapp, 87, of Montgomery went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 26, 2023, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Shirley was predeceased by her father, Quincey Crescent Frith, her mother, Mary Beatrice Kimmons Frith, her sister, Mary Jeanette Brunson, and her brothers, James Crescent Frith, Louis Dempsey Frith and Willie Frank Frith, and the love of her life, her husband, Alan Lawrence Mapp.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmie Lee Frith, her sons, Clark Eddie Griffith (Julia), Mark Alan Mapp and Dale Patrick Mapp (Christina), her grandsons, Justin J. Soto (Ruth), Alan Monroe Mapp, Patrick Ellis Mapp, Brandon Alexander Mapp, Jacob Ryan Mapp and Jordan Dale Mapp, and her adored great granddaughters, Elizabeth Soto, Emily Soto, Ashley Soto and Aria Mapp.
A graveside service, to be officiated by her Pastor, Bro. Pat VanCor, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Alabama Heritage Cemetery located at 10505 Atlanta Hwy, in Montgomery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Mapp, Dale Mapp, Alan Mapp, Patrick Mapp, Brandon Mapp, Jacob Mapp, Jordan Mapp, and Chad Dionne. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmie Frith, Eddie Griffith and Justin Soto.
Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at her home church, Yarbrough Street Baptist Church, located at 1701 Yarbrough Street in Montgomery. A time of fellowship will follow the Celebration of Life service in the church Fellowship Hall. All who knew and loved mom are invited to join us for this celebration and time of fellowship.
