DUNCAN, Mrs. Sarah Hollis, age 96, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 after a long illness. A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Thursday, December 26, 2013 with the Reverend Lee Bloodworth of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. The family requests the omission of flowers. Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Hollis and Elizabeth W. Beavers Hollis and her husband of 63 years, Maehugh T. Duncan. She is survived by her two sisters, Geraldine H. Lawrence of Hiawassee, GA and Elizabeth L. Parsons of Mobile, AL; son, John H. Duncan (Marguerite) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Donna Duncan Guier of Montgomery, AL; two grandsons, Charles M. Duncan (Hisaka) of Arlington Heights, IL and Hollis W. Duncan (Luisa) of Barcelona, Spain; as well as four great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
