Sally Kelly Furlow, a resident of Montgomery, died July 29, 2017. She was 83 years old. Funeral services for Mrs. Furlow will be held August 1, 2017 at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home with Dr. Jay Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Services will be at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. She is survived by her wonderful daughters Ann Furlow Swain (John) and Sondra Kay Furlow Bradford (Rob) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Devon and Sabrina Bradford.
Thanks to the many dear friends and neighbors who helped during her illness. Sally taught for 20 wonderful years at Trinity Presbyterian School and is thankful for the education her daughter Ann Furlow received during the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade when we arrived in Montgomery from Omaha, Nebraska. Thanks go to the Montgomery Academy where the staff nurtured and taught Sondra Furlow, giving her a strong educational background that enabled her to obtain the Harold Sterling Vanderbilt full scholarship to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. She will always be grateful to the teachers who continued to give her encouragement even when she was at the University.

Sally worked for nine years with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, a wonderful group of dedicated individuals. It was a privilege to be a part of the Prayer Warrior Group.
Sally received her undergraduate degree from Troy State Teacher's College and Master of Education Degree from Auburn University. She taught second grade at Trinity Presbyterian School and enjoyed her work and loved her students. She also taught at Goshen High School, Goshen, Alabama; Wiesbaden, Germany; Columbus, Mississippi; Grand Forks, North Dakota; and Bellevue, Nebraska. She was a member of DAR and an active member of First Baptist Church Montgomery, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her loving and awesome husband of 61 years Lt. Col. James Douglas Furlow; her wonderful parents, Cothern Joseph Kelly and Tula Davis Kelly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Montgomery, Alabama or Old Lebanon Cemetery Fund, Troy, Alabama.
