Even though Bobby died 2 years ago today,  I was always very  fond of B0bby as I was a teammate of his back at Auburn in the late 60s.  I was a couple of years older, and we hit it off pretty well from the beginning.  He never met a stranger, and he was  happy and positive whenever we were together , and  we always had a good time together  whether drinking PBR, or telling jokes or talking about hunting and pretty girls..   We hunted together, a few times at Auburn, and after graduation, i have one particularly fond memory when he took me hunting hunting quail on his farm somewhere between Selma and Montgomery  but closer to Montgomery, and I brought  my dogs up as we had a farm in nearby Sardis, Alabama. .  We didn't find many quali, but we had a big time as always when you were around Bobby.   I am truly sorry that he departed this life so soon.  We are losing too many fine young men.   He was a good athlete, a good person and someone I always enjoyed being around.   I later met his brother who  works in Selma I believe, as we were selling a farm in Sardis, Alabama,  it was  obvious that he came from a good family.  I  will lift  my glass tomorrow on Christmas 2022 even in honor and in memory of Bobby Woodruff.  One of a kind and friend forever. War  Damn Eagle!  God bless.   Robert Margeson,  Albany, Georgia 

How much we will miss Bobby and his contageous sense of humor.  We always said that if Bobby had worn a skirt we would have thought that it was Slim his beloved Grandmother' who always liked to visit and boss everyone around, and leave us in stitches at her sense of humor and bravodo  in saying what she thought.  
When a new preacher came to town he seriously asked  someone what the power structure was in Lowndesboro and the individual replied, the power is standing over there holding onto the columns.  That was Bobby, in charge, but giving us a chance to laugh at every word and thought.    

I was one of Bobby's upperclassmen when he was playing football at Auburn, and he was a special guy from day one.    He was a genuine   enjoyable fun to be around person, and I was saddened to hear of his  passing.   Hearing of his demise reminds me again of my need to reach out to all my special college friends and tell them I love them  as one day they  will be gone.    After graduating from Auburn, some 40 years ago,  he graciously took me bird hunting on the family farm, in Lownsboro and we killed a few birds and had a delightful time.    Although I haven't been in contact with Bobby for several years,   I was extremely fond of him, and I regret not taking time to see him more frequently.    I had some recent dealings with his brother in Selma,  I salute Bobby Woodruff and give my condolences to his family and loved ones.  We lost one fine gentleman.     Sincerely,  Robert Margeson

I first met Bobby when he came to work at the Auction and from then on were friends. He  kept all of us laughing at some point during the day, and knowing that I was the coffee drinker out of the bunch he would make sure I always had a cup full. Bobby helped all of us with whatever we asked him to do. He had a heart of gold, and although I no longer work at the Auction when I saw him it was as if I had been there everyday. I will truly miss him and he will always be in my heart.

   To the Woodruff family, thank you for including Jonathan “Bro” Blackmon in your family.  Bobby and Bro were more than employer and employee...they favored each other as “friends and brothers.”.   Bobby we will always remember when you would come visit our family on Sunday’s. Sometimes you’d stay and have Sunday dinner with us. I recall a time when our mom had cooked collard greens and corn bread. My daddy was eating with his hands, and you said, “ damn Bro,  you must have made Martha mad, she has you  eating with your hands”...the two of you had a good laugh. You then said, “I’m glad she’s not mad at me, she gave me a fork”. 
   Our family looked forward to seeing you on Sundays. There were times you’d include Jackie in your visits. Upon your arrival you’d say, “ we’re not getting out, we’re just riding out and wanted to stop and speak”.   
   Bobby you will be missed by our family.  There’s so much that we could reminisce about, but we’ll end by saying “goodbye”...to a dear friend to our family. You will always be a part of our family conversations whenever we speak of Lowndes County or Lowndesboro, “ our first home”.  We will keep your family in prayer...POC is (334)868-6078.

Bobby was truly a person that loved to make people laugh and boy did we! He was a smart man that never minded giving a helping hand to anyone that needed a little bit. He was a hoot at the auction! Everyone liked Bobby. My condolences to his family and I’m so sorry for your loss. He really is irreplaceable. May he rest at the feet of our savior.🙏🏻

I am so sorry to hear the passing of Bobby, I knew Bobby from working for the Auto Auction of Montgomery and enjoyed many, many laughs in the van trips when he went with us to get cars and take cars back to the dealers and also just being around him at the Auction itself. He just had that spark about him that made you feel good and kept you on your toes as well. Love Brother you will be missed but knowing one day we will meet again. Thanks for the many Memories!

Bobby taught me how to drive.  My mother Rosa Mae Hill worked for the family her whole life. I worked on the family farm until I graduated from High school. I then graduated from college and moved to Texas. Bobby allowed my mother to purchase a small piece of land and build her own house.  He then allowed me to purchase another small piece of land next door to build a small house when I want too.  He was truly a good friend.  I will travel from Dallas Tx to attend his service. So sorry to hear this. Worked with Bobby at GE for a number of years and he always made our days brighter with his outlook on life. It couldn't have better said than what was written in his obituary.
