Bubba enjoyed getting up every morning and going to have coffee at Hardee's with his buds and being able to get out and be active every day. And every evening, he watched "Wheel of Fortune" with his buddy Charlie. This was his routine seven days a week. It was often said he would probably pass away either in his truck or working and he would be happy that. And that's exactly how he passed, working on someone's kitchen cabinet. It wasn't the work itself that drove him, it was the fact he was helping others.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary, sister Carolyn Murray (Tilton) and children (spouses) TJ Wonders, Charlie Mulcahy (Melanie), Lydia Gallardo (PJ), CJ Willis (Vince), Samuel Tyus (Julie), Jennifer Lewis (Winston), Jason Mulcahy (Michelle), 18 grand children and 9 great grandchildren. Robert was known affectionately by many as "Bubba," "Grandbubba", “Grandaddy” or "Big Pops".
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, beginning at 10 am, with a memorial service to follow at 11 am at Leak Memorial Chapel in Montgomery. He will be buried at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
Bubba's life was all about helping and serving others. That's what drove him every day. So in lieu of flowers, the family requests that he is honored by a contribution being made to your favorite charity so others are helped.
