He was preceded in death by his father Alfonso Padilla and mother Rose Marie Perez. Mr. Padilla leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
Ray worked for Rheem as a machinist for many years, but his skills were not limited to his vocation. He loved working with his hands creating all sorts of things in metal and wood. In retirement he operated a small engine repair shop. Mr. Padilla was well rounded, from fishing to playing music, he could do most anything he put his mind to. He was always busy on a project. An Alabama fan and a member of Crossroads Community Church (formerly Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church), he was quick to speak of his passions. While his accomplishments were remarkable, "Pancho" will be remembered most for his contagious love for his family. Some would call him an indulgent granddad, a doting father and an adoring husband. Others admired the esteem and respect he showed the women in his life.
A friends and family visitation for Ray will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL. A celebration of life service will follow at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude with a burial at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers are Keith Toney, Brian Stalnaker, Shane Wilson, Christian Stalnaker, John Davis and Mike Slatton (honorary pallbearer).
