Phillip Garrett Sampley

Phillip Garrett Sampley, age 56, of Montgomery, AL went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 6, 2018. Phillip was born February 4, 1961 in Indiana to Rebecca Maynard Sampley and Curtis Earl Sampley.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Johnna Sampley; son, Tyler Sampley; parents (Montgomery); sister, Angela Pitman (Gary) of Decatur; mother-in-law, Janet Appleton (Decatur); brother-in-law, Michael Appleton (Tonya) of Decatur and niece, Kaitlyn Appleton. Phillip was preceded in death by; his grandparents, Jesse James Sampley and Annie Lou Sampley; Roy Thomas Maynard and Mavis Maynard.

Phillip fought a life long battle with diabetes. His faith in Christ helped him with that struggle for he was known as a Christian man. He held his family close and delighted in his love for his parents, his wife and especially his son, Tyler. A family member said, "his greatest joy in life was Tyler."

Memorials may be made in Phillip Sampley's memory to Faulkner University for furthering Tyler Sampley's education. A celebration of life visitation for Phillip will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL.
